I was doing work experience at a day-care today and there was a little girl called Persianna.
WDYT?
I think it is just wrong at first glance...but at the same time it intrigues me! I can't make up my mind about it because it isn't really 'trendy' as such because although it is made up it has a real old-fashioned feel to it.

It reminds me of a cat actually! (Those persian cats) For me, it's pretty, but it reminds me of one of those "bratty" names for spoilt children, like Bianca and Tiffany.

Persis is a biblical name
So since Persis is a real name, I think Persianna can be too. Lika a combination of Persis and Anna.
Persis sounds uncommon, old-fashioned and pretty. I don't think Persianna is bad either, it is no worse than Savannah or India, and it sounds interesting.

Don't like it. It annoys me when people make up names by adding "-anna", "-lyn", "-lee" or similar at the end of a normal name. Persia would be OK, though nms.

Hmm. I suppose it's pretty, but I feel it tries to hard. I see "Persia" of course, but why the redundant "anna"? Persia is dramatic enough on its own.
I have once heard of a little girl named Persia. A Scottish politician and her (Iranian) husband, named their daughters Persia and Caledonia to reflect their respective heritage. I thought it was too themey, but at least meaningful. I hate place names that have no meaning to the parents.

NMS, but I suppose its better than some names you see out there. It sounds too much like Persia for my taste, and yet it's quite feminine. I don't however think it has an old-fashioned feel.

It is nms, but fine. I gues it derives from Persia, and although it sounds nice and exotic, I really don't find place names as given names appropriate. Secondly, I've never liked created names.
It is also true, however, that Persianna at least tries to sound like a given name, and that it is really very nice, if you ignore its etymology. So all I say is "fine, we've seen worse".
