[Opinions] Sylvana / Silvana
What are your opinions on Sylvana and Silvana for girls? Spelling preference? Too close to Sylvia?

I think they pale in comparison to Sylvia, honestly. Sylvia is gorgeous, whereas Sylvana/Silvana is too heavy and weighed-down. Too elaborate as well.

Sylvana/Silvana is too fussy for me. Sylvia and Sylvie both feel stronger and more sophisticated. Between Sylvana and Silvana, I prefer Silvana. Sylvana really reminds me of Sylvania light bulbs and Sylvan Learning Centers.

Sylvana looks strange and reminds me of Sylvan, the learning center.Silvana is better but it sounds like a sexy, foreign femme fetale with no character development but a lot of slinky silver dresses.Sylvia is still a little too old for my tastes but it's lightyears better than Silvia, which just looks weird.Sylvie is adorable and my favorite of all of these. :D

I'd only worry about Sylvana/ Silvana being too close to Sylvia/ Silvia if you were going to use the name when there's already a Sylvia/ Silvia in the family. I prefer Sylvia/ Sylvie.

Love the name! I'd use it. I like both spellings. I think my 'default' for this one is Sylvana, but I also like the look of Silvana. I don't think it's too close to Sylvia. It's related, but has a different sort of feel to it.
I also like Sylviana, although that's not as pretty and simple as Sylvana/Silvana. It's more frilly, I suppose, while Sylvana/Silvana is easier to say and feels more natural.

I think they're lush and dazzling.

I prefer Silvana; looks more authentically Italian. But I'd rather use Sylvia!

I prefer Sylvia to Sylvana or Silvana. The latter is just too frilly and fluffy for my taste.

so do I...I didn't used to like Sylvia but now I think it's kind of attractive, in a grown-up, understated kind of way. Silvana/Sylvana has a faintly sinister feel to me.
Also Silvana/Sylvana sounds like it could be a sports car.

See, I go back and forth on Sylvia. It's a family name a few times over, and I do like it, but sometimes I just go through phases where I want any alternative - hence Sylvana and Silvana. I don't know why. And I can never decide between Sylvia and Silvia. Silvia has been my preference until lately, when Sylvia started gaining ground.

I like Sylvia because it's a family name, and I think Silvia just looks weird. IDK, I am of the opinion that Sylvana/Silvana tries too hard, so I don't care for it.
