[Opinions] Tara
I know this name isn't in style right now but I really do think it's pretty and would like to see it get more popular.Thoughts on Tara?
What about Taryn?

It's dated but I've always liked Tara (I prefer it pronounced TAHR-uh). Taryn, otoh, doesn't nearly as much going for it.

I actually do like Tara (I say it "TARE-uh.") It's simple and has a quiet prettiness to it. I don't like Taryn much- it seems like a made-up kre8tiv name.

I find that Tara isa pleasant name, but it just doesn't jump out at me; sort of, ok. It makes a nice nn I suppose.:0)

Tara is fine- I really don't have strong feelings about it either way. I do prefer Cara, Clara or Sara. I like the sound of Taryn more, but dislike the -yn ending. I can't seem to find a spelling that works better, though

I think Tara is pretty, too. I always have. It was a top 50 name when I was born, so it does feel dated. It will probably be a long time before it starts getting popular again; I won't be surprised if it drops out of the Top 1000 completely over the next couple years. There are far worse things than having a dated name, though. Tara is attractive, it's not teaseworthy...I don't think there's anything wrong with it. I like it far more than Taryn.

Tara is my least favorite of the "ara" names; maybe because it was trendy in the 80's. Really to me the name lacks substance and class compared to Sara or Cara or even Mara.

It's okay but never one I really liked. I didn't actually know a mean girl named Tara, but I always thought of it as a mean girl's name.

I think Tara is fine. I don't love it, but it's simple and feminine and not trendy. I think Taryn is even better. I might not use it because I'd worry that people would think it was made up and/or trendy because of the "yn" part. It has a lovely sound though.
