I hardcore love Clémence and Clement, but not Clemency. It's too much of a word for my tastes. Or maybe it's more accurate to say it's too conceptual for me, too wrapped up in my thoughts with criminals and the judicial system. Clemency Adele
Clemency Irene
Clemency Joanna
Clemency Laura
Clemency Margaret
Clemency Rosanna

I like it, it really is very elegant and stately, but it has a sweetness to it too. I like these combos a lot:
Clemency Adele
Clemency Caroline
Clemency Eliza
Clemency Georgina
Clemency Jemima
Clemency Margaret
Clemency Martha
Clemency Nora
Clemency Rosamond
Clemency Virginia

Yippee! Another Clemency fancier! With Beatrice and Joy, it's my favourite virtue name by far, though I can't warm up to Clemence at all.For mns I like Rowena and Rosamond and almost Joanna, though I'd rather have Joan for its medieval briskness. Also Clemency Alice and, for some reason, Clemency Arlette.

In theory, Clemency is lovely. The meaning and the sounds are great. But all I can think of is a clemency board and parole officers. It's connected to my work so hopefully I'm an oddball on this one. I much, much prefer Clemence / Clementine / Clementina, although I admit the vibe is different for those than than bouncy Clemency.

Clemency is, as you say, elegant but also sweet, I think. I have other favorite virtue names I would be more likely to use, but I'd be delighted to meet a young Clemency. From you list, I best like...Clemency Adele
Clemency Adeline
Clemency Althea
Clemency Antonia
Clemency Aurelia
Clemency Caroline
Clemency Diana
Clemency Edwina
Clemency Flora
Clemency Georgiana
Clemency Irene
Clemency Joanna
Clemency Julia
Clemency Lenore
Clemency Margaret
Clemency Rosamund
Clemency Rosanna
Clemency Viola
Clemency Winifred

Not a name, in my book. Something the governor gives the guy on death row.

I like Clemency's wordiness and harsh Puritan hopefulness. It's also a really bright yellow colour, yellow within dark gray, like a mineshaft canary. So the combos of yours I like really fall in that buttoned-up prim-but-rebellious Gothic heroine category:Clemency Rachel
Clemency Laura
Clemency Agnes
Clemency Hannah
Clemency Martha
Clemency Margaret
Clemency Ursulaand I made some more for you to look at:Clemency Abigail
Clemency Dinah
Clemency Dorcas
Clemency Tabitha
Clemency Esther
Clemency Hodiah
Clemency Judith
Clemency Keziah
Clemency Magdalene
Clemency Ruth
Clemency Noah
Clemency Rebecca
Clemency Sarah
Clemency Susannah
Clemency Zipporah
