[Opinions] Roderick
WDYT of Roderick?
It's quite old-fashioned here in the UK.

Roderick's one of my newer name crushes. I think of a buttoned-up aristocrat with a roguish, jaunty spirit.

I like Roderick very much, perhaps because I had a baby brother so named, who only lived a week. And apart from that, it's a good name.

When I lived in Dallas, my hairdresser had a little Roderick. His father was a Rodney, and I thought it was a good compromise for a man who wanted a junior and a woman who really didn't. If I wanted a Rick name, I'd opt for Frederick, Richard, or Alaric, but I like Roderick, too.

I prefer Frederick, but Roderick is nice too. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. :)

Roderick is on my why-isn't-this-more-popular list. I have always found it strikingly handsome and distinguished.

when I was thirteen some sixteen years ago, one of my teachers had a baby and named him Roderick, and I remember being totally horrified and disgusted by how ugly (I thought) the name was. Now, I think it's more pompous and formal than ugly. It's very stiff. wow I can't beleive that baby would be 16 now, haha, oh.
