Congratulations to them.
Their daughter's name is horrendous.

... Why?!
First, Scotland is a real country. If you're going to name your child after a country (a la China, Ireland, etc.), at least spell it correctly!
Second, Scotland has quite a masculine sound. I can't think of anything feminine about "Scot" or "Scotty." You can't just make it feminine by replacing -land with -lynn! (Although I guess you can, considering that your friend did so.)
I'm sorry if I come across as insulting, considering that this is your friend, but... this is pretty bad. At least the child will have Kaye to fall back on.

I don't care for Scotlynn. Maybe they were trying to honor someone in the family named Scott? If they were just creatively spelling Scotland...then I really don't like it. Not my taste.
Ridiculous.
Topped off with a boring filler middle name.

They could just as well have named her Newfoundlynn...
Ugly.
Ugly.
I like Kaye, but Scotlynn is atrocious.
Yikes. I'm of the opinion that if one feels compelled to name a child after a country, at least spell it correctly, Scotland. Spelling it wrong doesn't make it more feminine. Better still, Caledonia.
Now that would have been cool!
Caledonia would've been beautiful. Even Alba (of which I'm not a fan), which I believe is the Gaelic form, would've been miles better than Scotlynn.

Atrocious.
I agree. And even if it was Scotland, that name seems distinctively masculine to me.

homemade sin...

Scotlynn is very unattractive, IMO.
