Yeah, I think so. Personally, I love love love it for a middle name, but I think it's totally usable for a first name too.

Love Forrest though I prefer Forest. It's definitely usable. I don't think Forrest Gump is a bad association (I guess that's why you would think it's unusable) and I also think kids won't know about the movie so there won't be any Run, Forest, run!

I don't think it's unusable, but people will probably still reference the movie when they hear it. They'd get over it, though.

I prefer Forest. It's a small change, but it feels significant to me--a little more nature, a little less Gump. I really like it as a middle name.
