Yes, I think it's a bit dated, but not overwhelmingly so.
I know a Brooke who is 11.
Brooke. The reasoning is a bit lame though. I love the imagery of Brook, but worry that if she were really chatty, I wouldn't be able to stop thinking "babbling brook" :)
