[Opinions] Cathlene
Okay... My name is Breann Cathlene and I am considering going by Cathlene. The reason being that my future last name start with a B, Breann Byrum (ugh).WDYT of Cathlene? Do you think that Cathlene would fit better in a family set with Jeremy than Breann? For that matter, WDYT of Breann?thanks

Both are nice names but it seems strange to start going by another name if you've gone by Breann throughout your entire life. You could use two last names (your maiden name and your future last name). Breann _____ Byrum would work well imo. You could also go by Breann Cathlene Byrum or Breann C. Byrum. Breann and Cathlene both sound nice with Jeremy.

I prefer Breann to Cathlene. I had a friend in middle school named Breanne and I always thought her name was unique. :) I also think that Breann Byrum sounds fine, and don't think it matters that they both start with B's, it actually makes it sound quite nice to me. :) It would sound bad if the first name ended in a B and last name started with a B. I don't think it sounds that bad together. You could just tack an 'a' to the end of your name - Breanna Byrum; I don't know why, but it just sounds a little more complete and flows better this way to me. *shrugs* But its really not that bad to begin with. Just out of curiosity, why do they call you Spree?~Arie~

I wish I had a great story to tell, but in summer camp before 7th grade no one was allowed to bring in candy, but my mom would let me sneak some in. At the time my favorite candy was Sprees - and as they come in a roll they're easy to carry and don't make noise if shaken. Rather quickly all the kids figured out that I had something other than the bad hotdogs and chips that they served us. It just happened from there. I kinda liked it (and Sprees weren't that popular at the time, so no one made the connection - like with a guy I use to know whom everyone called Skittles b/c he dyed his hair 5 or 6 different colors, lol) so I used it in 7th grade and even my teachers would call me Spree. Considering that I met my fiance when we were 12, and that's all he called me all through school, it's really weird when he calls me Breann. Thanks for the opinion though, Breanna does sound a bit better."We can even learn from our enemies." -OvidMitakuye Oyasin

Are you usually called by these two names Breann Cathlene all the time or just by Breann? If you are usually called Breann I would think that it would be hard to get used to being called Cathlene and also how do your friends, parents, and fiance feel about calling you Cathlene? Just some things to think about. In general I do like Cathlene (or Cathleen) better than Breann, just because it's less popular and more my style. I don't think Breann Byrum sounds that bad, it may be a bit of a tounge twister but it's rather nice. Another option would be, instead of changing your lastname to Byrum, to just use you maiden name, or attach your current last name to his (i.e. if your last name were Smith it could be Breann Smith-Byrum). WDYT? I hope you are able to resolve this soon. :)

Breann Snyder-Byrum... hmm, iunnoI'm use to responding to several names:
My family and everyone at work calls me Breann. My fiance, all of his family and all of our friends call me Spree. I guess it would be even more of a hassle to go by three names, lol. I;ve thought of using Cathlene as my main fn for a while, but never really got a lot of opinions on it. My mom doesn't mind (she's just happy that I don't want to legally change my name to Spree, lol) and Jeremy (my fiance) doesn't mind either b/c he'd just call me Spree anyways.

I like it!Breann Snyder-Byrum sounds really nice, I'd deffinately go that route, it's simple and easy to remember and people won't have to get used to calling you by a different first name, just a semi-different last name and you were going to end up changing your last name anyway, so it's prefect! I'd seriously consider it if I were you. I hope I've been able to help! :)Image hosting by Photobucket
