I used to really dislike this name, but it's grown on me. I recently met two, so that probably helped me see how it worked in real life. I kind of like it now. I prefer Candace to Candice- something about Candice just looks off. But I prefer Cadence to Candace in general. I'm wondering where all the people who like Cadence below were when I made a post about it a little while ago. Everyone who replied to that seemed to dislike it.

I dislike it because it's so similar to the word candy, which just makes it sound tacky - especially since candy isn't actually a word in this country, so it sounds cheesy and American. Candace is nicer than Candice IMO - I pronounce them slightly differently (CAN-das vs. can-DEESE). I much prefer Cadence which is very similar but doesn't have the candy sounds and has a nice musical association.

I really like the name. I do prefer Candace, but not by much. I can't stand the nn Candy, which seems to be the most inevitable of all nicknames. Candy is cheap and dated and low-rent. Candace is elegant without being fussy.

I like the name, but I only like the Candace spelling. Candice looks like it got confused with Alice and Beatrice. Candace is feminine and understated. Candace Melanie is my stock combo for it. :-)

I'm not a huge fan but it's not terrible. It's just boring to me. It's not particularly pretty, or cool, or unique, or interesting. It's just blah and "whatever". I prefer Cadence, personally. It seems to have a bit more spunk in my opinion. Candice makes more sense pronunciation-wise, but Candace looks more proper to me. Candice looks a bit like a misspelling, so I'm going to say I prefer Candace.
