[Opinions] Jonty?
What do you think of the (nick)name Jonty?

I find it infantile and silly. For some reason it's been used as a nn for Jonathan for decades here in South Africa, and it's put me right off Jonathan!
Really dislike it. It brings to mind seedy old antiques dealers with alcoholically red cheeks who call everyone Darling. Plain Jon is better, or Joff.
I kinda like it. Not something I would use, but it would be an ok childhood NN for a Jonathan.
I don't find it pretentious at all. It's okay as a nickname, but too childish and too informal as a given name. Jonte is a common nickname for Jonathan where I live.
It seriously makes me nauseas. It is repulsively pretentious.
I want to like it, because I admire the linguistic creativity of it, from Jonathan. But the similarity to the adjective "jaunty" is too much. Jaunty isn't necessarily a bad way to describe someone, but it isn't what I would want people to think of if it were me. It's too distracting. So I have to say "no" to Jonty.

It's very... jaunty.
Sorry, I had to say it.
Sorry, I had to say it.
It sounds like a Monty with jaundice! I don't like the jaundice part.

I like it as a nickname, find it too childish as a full name.
I wasn't familiar with it and at first I thought it was a feminine name. I'm not sure why though. I don't really like it as a nn for Jonathan. I don't think it sounds masculine and it makes me think of jaundice.
