What do you think of the name Jeanne for a girl? How do you pronounce it?
I like it. I usually pronounce it like the English girls' name Jean, but sometimes I use the French pronunciation.

I love how medieval and refined Jeanne looks! I prefer the English pronunciation, since the French pronunciation sounds affected when I do it, but I like it as well.

I prefer the French pronunciation, and think it'd look nice as a middle name though. I'd love to meet a Jeanne in real life though.

I know someone named Jeanne. She pronounces it like the word 'genie'. I don't really like it.

In my head Jeanne has the French "zhan" pronunciation. But in real life (in the U.S.) I would assume it was pronounced the English way, "jeen."
Sometimes I've heard Jeanne pronounced (in the U.S.) as if it were Jeanie. I really dislike that. Jeanie is darling, but trying to make French Jeanne into a Scottish nn just makes my brain hurt.

I run into this tangle every now and then; my name is Jean, and as I live in a French-speaking area, it's occasionally thought that

-2.I'm not me, as for example, when I present a cheque at the bank, the teller asks,"Is this your husband? Or your son?"
If I spelled the name Jeanne, I'd avoid all this, but my name is as my parents gave it to me, and that's how it will stay.

I usually pronounce it differently depending on the last name: the french way if the last name is French, and so on. I think that both ways of pronouncing it are equally pretty, I dont really prefer one over the other. Its one of those classic names you cant go wrong with.
