[Facts] What does the name "YASNEY" mean in Russian ?
its is my guess is that Jasnij (I know, fun with transliteration) was used as a description of the person, not a profession. The first with the ln probably had light hair/ eye color, opposed to dark features.

Here is the page of a poetry writer, Vladimir Yasniy: http://www.stihi.ru/avtor/jasniy
It seems that Yasniy is not his real name.
Here is the translation (Russian->English) of jasniy: http://www.lingvo-online.ru/ru/Translate/ru-en/%D0%AF%D1%81%D0%BD%D1%8B%D0%B9
"clear, lucid, distinct, serene, bright, .."
