I used to cheer with a girl named Mildred Josephine (Milly). I thought it was hideous then and haven't changed my mind since then. At least with Josephine, she could have had some cute nn options. BTW, Milly's mother was named Gladys so I guess the family preferred straightforward, non-frilly female names.

BTW, it's not that I find Milly to be so bad. It's the 'dred' of Mildred. It also reminds me of mildew. Now as a nick for Camilla / Camille or even Millicent, it could be really cute.
