[Opinions] Christabelle
I liked this when I was a teenager. I wouldn't use it but I still think it's kind of cool. What do you think? Christabelle or Christabel?

It's a little fluffy. That's why I prefer the more streamlined Christabel. It's pretty, though.

Brilliant poem! I can't get my head around the Christabelle spelling, though. Christabel is neat and tidy and unfussy and very beautiful. Christabelle is wearing too many frills and colours and beads. That said, I wouldn't use it because of the expectations about religious affiliation that inevitably go with it. Christiana is in my family but out for me, for the same reason.

I love Christabel, but I think Christabelle is way too frilly. Christabel would definitely make a good middle name.

Lovely, but just Christabel. Spelled that way it's eccentric and very English. Christabelle is a fluffy Southerner.

Definitely Christabel. It's crisp sounding and retro/nostalgic. The Christabel spelling has a literary connection. So to add the additional "-le" on the end mystifies me. It looks so fussy and *wrong." Plus, Christabel Bielenberg hid Jews in WWII Germany. [Elizabeth Hurley played her in a BBC drama if you're interested in seeing it.] And Christabel Pankhurst and her family worked and fought for female suffrage. Sylvia / Sylvie Christabel is my go-to combo because of the Pankhurst sisters. (I feel guilty about that because they didn't get along well as they got older. But I still love the combo.) I have no associations with any Christabelles. So that spelling is a no-go for me.

I prefer Christabel. Not much of a mouthful.

As Belle names go it isn't as baby-dollish as Annabelle, not as redneck as just plain Belle, not as classy as Isabelle, and not as Dust Bowl as Maybelle. I do prefer Christabelle to Christabel. It just looks nicer.
