My Desiree friend was thus named because she was the first child and her parents (both medical doctors fwiw) were really delighted about starting a family. Nothing trashy there!
She goes by Des, mostly. But when she started preschool, the teacher wasn't familiar with the name at all, didn't check the paperwork, and persistently called the poor child Daisy-Ray. If you want a trashy disaster of a name, look no further! But, possibly because of happy memories of giggling at the story, I do like Daisy, very much, and would happily use it.
