[Opinions] Swedish christenings, girls (with middle names and an Infinity)

Swedish birth announcements only rarely include middle names (which is annoying for a name nerd). Christening notices in the parish newsletters, however, often do. And some parishes put those as PDF's on their websites. :) They're not that many (and only 50% of all Swedish children are christened anyway), but I always find it interesting to get that rare chance to see what kind of combos Swedish parents actually give their children ... I love Scandinavian names!My favourite names from here would be Alice, Linnea, Astrid, Margareta, Cecilia, Sofie, Josefina, Tea, Maja, Eva, Viola, Lillie, Elise, Emmy, Saga, Ebba, Marta.And my favourite combos,

Alice Ebba Lisa - I quite like Alice Ebba. Lisa on the other hand... I don't know, I've always found it bland.

Clary was quite popular in Sweden in the first half of the 20th century. I was surprised it's not in the database. It's a form of Clara, I guess. Swedish 19th century queen Desideria was born Désirée Clary - in her case it was a surname, but it might still have inspired the use of it as a first name.I'm not sure if Elice is intended as an alternative spelling of Elise or as a form of Elicia, they're both currently in vogue. (I'm not sure quite was Elicia is either, though ... Just a twist on the popular Felicia and Alicia?) I would definitely think it's pronounced like Elise (e-LEES), in any case.Ida and Kerstin are indeed both Astrid Lindgren characters, but it's more a case of those characters having common names than this child having a very Astrid Lindgren-y name. :) Or well, Ida was revived due to Astrid's Ida, of course, but that was 40+ years ago so now it's just a common name.

How fun! Some comments:Amanda Chasmine Emmelina - what a mishmash. I like Amanda and Emmelina is OK. Chasmine is tacky.Amanda Margareta - haha, this is my cousin's name (although she has one more)! Margareta was our grandma's name.Engla Tiara Anna Alda - Engla Tiara - sickly sweet! And Anna and Alda are too close.Havanna Iva - *puke*Infinity Anna Melanie - INFINITY!? INFINITY!?!? Linn Fredrika - oh, nice to see my name! But I guess Linn is the name she will go by.Signe Astrid Josefina - beautiful! Signe is so cute.Smilla Rosen Lotta - sounds like three dogs. Rosen? "The rose"? Why not Rosa or Rosie? And Lotta is too nickname-ish. I have an aunt Lotta, but her real name is Charlotte.

One can only hope Infinity Anna Melanie will go by Anna, but I highly doubt it.Yeah, I found the form of Rosen a little weird. Even just Ros (Swedish for "rose", usually not a name) would have worked better. Smilla Ros Charlotta? :)
