[Opinions] Bored?
A friend told me that after she named her daughter she was mildly bummed out because after a while she got annoyed by the way her husband said their daughter's name and she thought she wanted to change the middle name and first name around. The baby was already 3 months old.
Has anyone here actually named a child or a pet and then decided later that you were bored with it, or even disliked it? For what reason?

I've never had this experience - don't have any kids and I'm fine with my cat's name. I find this concept really interesting though. I have noticed that people sometimes pronounce names slightly differently than other people and even though you can barely tell, I'm sure that you'd notice if your spouse were pronouncing your child's name differently than you. An example of this that comes to mind is Benjamin pronounced BEN-ja-min or BEN-jer-min. Or Louise, pronounced loo-EEZ or loo-WEEZ. Then of course you're running into even more problems if you and your spouse have different accents. It's definitely something to take into consideration when coming up with a name.

I've never seen this happen IRL, but there have been a few people who have come on Ops over the years and said they ended up disliking their baby's name. I remember one woman had named her daughter Marinda, but felt that it just didn't suit her after a couple of months. That's the one that sticks out the most.Obviously, it happens. I don't think it's a big deal if you change it before, say, the five month mark. It would be weird, but people would get used to it.
