[Opinions] Anderson
Now, I already know this is crazy but bear with me for a second. I have always loved the name Anderson for some reason and recently we have found that not too far back in my ancestry there were Andersons. But, DH always has an issue with names that don't have nicknames for some reason. Well, we were watching a show about the Hatfield & McCoy families and the patriarch of the Hatfield family was namedAnderson nn Anse .... and I kind of like it. Is that crazy? Also there was a brother named Ellison and I kind of like that too.

The first nickname I would think of for Anderson would be Andy but Anse is interesting.

I've never minded Anderson either. The most obvious nn is Andy, which I personally prefer. Anse is too close to "ants" and reminds me a little of "arse" too, sorry!

Anderson is not really my style- not a bad name, but I'm not a fan of surnames as first names generally. Also it reminds me too much of Blaine Anderson from Glee (not a bad association, just a big one for me.)That aside, I don't think Anderson nicknamed Anse is weird at all. You could also use Andy, Anders, etc.

Anderson is okay, but awfully buttoned-up and preppy. Anse or Ance as a nn isn't terrible, but it does seem contrived and what with the popularity of the TV show, it looks fangirlish even if it isn't.
I'd rather see Andy used as a nn, it's friendly and unassuming but not too childish.

I like Anderson, and Anse is actually a pretty cool nickname. Part of me thinks it sounds a tiny bit forced but I don't think that would keep me from using it. I only say that because I think the more logical nn would be "Andy" or "Ander"...Anse doesn't seem like it would be the first thing to come to people's minds. I don't like Ellison at all. Edison would be better. Ellison sounds like weird mashup of Elliott and Anderson, and they already have an Anderson! Two "son" names are way too match-y...they should've gone with Elliott and Anderson.

I think the best nickname would be Andy, but Anse works too.

I don't think it's so crazy. It's no crazier than, say, Jackson or Madison. I think it sounds pretty cool.I'm not crazy about Anse, though, just because the first Anse I ever heard of *was* "Devil" Anse Hatfield, and he isn't the best association to have with the name. Reminds me of feuding and bloodshed.Ellison is nice. I can see people using it for girls, though.
