Where I live, it's only used by extremely fundamentalist Christians, and not many of them. A colleague once had twins, Jesse and Elizabeth, and until she put us right we all assumed that they were both daughters, Jessica and Elizabeth.I don't find the Tree of Jesse attractive - too phallic for my simple tastes. But I am aware that in other parts of the planet it's pretty mainstream. And the only American Jesse I've met is a very fine person.

phallic?I'm confused by this....which tree of Jesse are you referring too?

In tougher-minded times, the family tree of Jesus was sometimes drawn/painted as a literal tree with labelled branches for various family members, growing proudly from the, ahem, loins of Jesse himself, lying on the ground and staring upwards!Once seen, never forgotten, believe me.

I also LOVE this name, but couldn't use it, as my younger brother's fiancé is Jessica. It is a handsome name though and some friends of ours just named their son Jesse a couple of months ago.

I like Jesse. It's a friendly, boy-next-door type of name to me.

It's good/okay. The first time I met a Jesse I thought it was weird, because I thought of the "Jessie" sound as a girls name only. Now I'm used to it for boys too though. It may be a little dated but I wouldn't find it weird to see on a baby or little kid.

I love it! I picturing it working on a million different "types" of people - Old, young, hip, nerdy, brash, shy, you name it. And I love that it's an old name but still very current sounding

I really, really like it. I used to love the combo Jesse Kirk. Now I'm not so sure. I was going to say that Jesse Alexander would be a good combo but then I saw that you already have Jesse Alexander in your sig. ;)

I love it. It's one of my favorite masculine names.

I like it a lot. I'm not crazy about Jessie as a nickname for Jessica because the sound is masculine to me. I think that Jesse is a handsome and very masculine name.

I like it on a man. I've seen it spelled this way on a female before and I'm not too fond of that.

I quite like it. I wouldn't mind if it was a little less popular though...

I'm from the UK, it's not very popular here :]

It's ranked 16th over hereIn the Netherlands that is. And the 2013 second quarter statistics are out, and it's ranked 7th there... :(
I might seriously consider it otherwise...
