I really like the name Eli, but I can never decide whether I prefer just Eli or if I prefer it as a nickname for Elijah or Elias. Eli seems very intelligent to me, and although I have no interest in American football, I must say that Eli Manning adds some definite sexiness to the name. I don't imagine an ugly kid is what I'm trying to say.

Anyway, yes, I think Eli is a perfect way to honour an Elizabeth. Even though the names aren't technically related, I think the sounds are similar enough.
