[Opinions] Calamity
For some reason I love this as a name today. Normally I don't like word names at all. But Calamity is so fun to say. Clearly it's definition makes it unusable....right? Clearly it's too silly for words...right? But...Calamity. Calamity Calamity Calamity. Nicknames Cal, Callie, Ami, Amity, Cami... Could you indulge me and combo it anyway? What works, besides Calamity Jane? :)

DudeThis was my FAVORITE name for a girl in 8th grade!! ...And I still think it rocks, even if only as a GP. I use to like the nn Amity for it but today I'm thinking "Lam(b)" could be cool ;)I can totally see myself using Jane IRL so maybe I can incorporate Calamity as a NN that way. As for as combos, I really don't think it even needs a middle name - actually works better on its own

I agree that Calamity is quite fun to say. Difficult to combo though, can't get Calamity Jane out of my head.

I like it.I would never use it of course, but it does make an awesome name. It's so much fun.

Yeah...no. There are so many words that sound pretty but are not usable due to meaning, think Melancholy. I feel like if you did use it, it would *have* to be with Jane ;)PP are right, if you must, only for a pet.I also agree with Calanthe as a reasonable substitute. Or Clarity or Clemency....

No, it's not usable, and yes, it's too silly. But it would be funny on a pet. Calamity Cat, Calico Calamity, Calamity Canary, Calamity the Cocker Spaniel...

Honestly I don't think anything works. This does not work as a name at all IMO. Sure it sounds similar to stuff like Trinity or Charity, but the meaning is too bad.

Maybe as a name in a book/movie. Or you could 'misspell' it like Calamitie or Calemity or Callamity, etc. It could be used as a name for sure, but definitely would be the subject of a lot of teasing.
