[Facts] FIAMMA
Hallo,
I wish to suggest the addiction to you dictionary of the Italian name FIAMMA. The origin and meaning are the same as for FIAMMETTA: this is, in fact, a diminutive of Fiamma and means "little flame". FIAMMA recalls, as Fiammetta does too, the light of fire, the flame of Faith and Holy Ghost (Christian meaning), or the flame of a political idea. FIAMMETTA is more common because of its literary origin : it is in fact the name used by the Italian poet Giovanni Boccaccio to hide the true identity of the woman he loved, following the rules of medieval poetry. One of his works is entitled "Elegia di Madonna Fiammetta" (Elegy of my lady Fiammetta, 1343–1344.
Thank you for your kind attention. Best regards.
