[Opinions] Golden
Was just toying with this as a name. WDYT of it for a boy? Or does it seem more girlish to you?

Showers. Enough said.
It's a name I gave to a stray cat I "know", because if its colour. I dislike it on humans of whichever gender.
Too prissy and non-namey for my liking
I'm sorry but I think its horrible for a boy or a girl. Its a random word. I think of Golden Girls. Now I love Marigold and think that's adorable.
Golden is on my GP list. I adore it for a boy but only as a middle name. I think it's an awesome middle name. Fox Golden is one of my GP Golden combos.
Golden is more boy than girl in my opinion.

"Golden boys and girls all must,
like chimney sweepers, come to dust".
a quote, but I don't know from whom.

There's nothing wrong with the sound of it, I guess. But it could be kind a tough one for a kid who doesn't excel at anything. Holden, anyone?
Living in the Pacific Northwest (U.S.) I can't help but think immediately of Golden Tate, the Seattle Seahawk.

He is named after his father, Golden Tate, Jr., making him a "III." I always thought how lucky he was to be such a good athlete. With a name like that if he didn't excel at something his name would be not fun.
So, if you've got a crystal ball and know your bundle of joy will excel at something, then maybe it's OK. Even then, this still sounds weird, "This is my daughter Golden Evancho. She is an operatic genius." Or, "This is Golden Einstein. He is failing all his classes right now because he's such a genius at physics. But one day he'll astonish you."
Of course, there's more to life than impressing others with some kind of skill. Inner beauty counts too. But with a name that sets up expectations it would make life easier to outwardly live up to them in some way.

I don't like it. It sounds almost... boastful? I'm not sure how to explain it. Like naming a kid "King" or "Awesome" - like showing off.
It also makes me think of a Golden retriever! I guess if I had to choose I would say it's a boys name.

I think it's bad. Golden boy, golden girl, either way, it's kind of ridiculous.
Gordon for a boy isn't too bad. I think Golden would make an interesting name for a fictional character though (it'd have to be alluding to the idea of a "golden boy").

I think it's a girl name. Makes me think of Golda.
Little Golden Books. Golden Snitch. Golden Girls. Golden as a euphemism for urine.
I don't think it works as anybody's first name. Too product-y or fairy-tale.
