I agree that it's a strong and handsome name. Personally, I prefer to pronounce it stressing the first syllable rather than the last, but I like it both ways. The only nickname I've ever heard for it is Gerry, but that's for the first syllable stress. Focusing on the second syllable, Rory comes to mind but it's a stretch. "G"? "Jed"/"Ged"?
