WDYTO Clemency for a girl? Do you think it is usable? What middle name would you pair it with?

It's extremely stuffy.

I dislike it. I find the Clem sound incredibly unattractive and it honestly doesn't strike me so much a virtue as a legal idea. I don't find it completely unusable as I would rather see it than some of the trendier names out there, but I don't think it would go over super well either.Clemency Lorraine maybe?

Clemency is one of the few virtue names that I really like a lot. I'd love to meet a small Clemency, and I'm actually mildly surprised that I haven't. Not a -y ending; not too many nasals or k/s sounds; not a stressed e. OK, so:Clemency Rosa
Clemency Laura
Clemency Margaret
Clemency Jane - such a little-black-dress of a name, but it never fails
Clemency Ruth looks tautological, so no. Pity.
Antonia Clemency flows better than Clemency Antonia
Clemency Philippa
Clemency Alice
Clemency Marianne
Clemency Joanna

I don't like it. It sounds too proper and pious so I don't think it'se usable. Clementine is nice though.

I think it's pretty dumb, actually. As dumb as Mercy. Clemency is what you ask the governor for at eleven-thirty at night.

I love Clemence, Clement, and even Mercy, but I have a hard time disassociating Clemency from the word. It doesn't appeal to me as a name.

Clemency means a less bad punishment. It's much too associated with that, IMO, and that makes it sort of funny. Also the -y ending seems like a silly flourish to me. Too cutesy.Clemence, though, is nice...Clemence Constance
Clemence Jacqueline
Clemence Lysandra
Clemence Jane
Clemence Marina
