I don't know if it is just my opinion, but Gertrude when I say it, it sounds very butchy (manly) like a man and I wouldn't want to set my child up for failure. Girls should have pretty names. Esther is very beautiful and elegant. I knew an Esther but I believe she spelled her name just slightly different, she was from Romania.
