[Facts] Re: Cruz in Portuguese
Cruz isn't used as a given name in Portuguese: it's first and foremost a surname. In Portugal, you can't legally give your child the first name Cruz. However, devoted parents may add "da Cruz" (literally "of the Cross") to their children's names (of both genders) — this would be uncommon nowadays. Thus, theoretically, a woman named "Maria da Cruz" could be called Cruz en famille. Cruz itself is a feminine word, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be used as a male name.Florence Maud - Mary Valentine ("May") - Ada Imogen - Clementine Everly - Sophia Eleanor - Lucy Beatrice ("Lou") | Henry Valerian - Maxence George - Benedict Louis - Emory Willian - John Arthur ("Jack") - Frederick Darcy
