Help[Opinions] Neon
This is the name a favorite singer of mine. Thought it was a stage name until recently when I learned it was her real name! I kinda love it tbh. I submitted it here if anyone else is interested- http://www.behindthename.com/submit/name/neon.
It's hippy-ish in the vein of Evening, Fable, Moxie, Jubilee, etc which I also like.
Thoughts and opinions? Any combo ideas?

I am very ambivalent about this as a name. I don't trust my initial reaction of liking it.

Never heard of her, and it's not my cup of tea at all, but I checked the UK births out of curiosity, and there have been quite a few Neons born here! Only two girls, though. The other one is Neon Violet, which is kind of migraine-inducing.:)

It's very lame, and not hippie-ish at all.

I wouldn't have expected it on a woman. I think it suits a man better, but preferably as a nickname only. Neon makes me think of the eighties and of in-your-face flashy signs. Not really positive associations like I would have with Fable and Evening. Also, I don't consider it hippy-ish, because most of my associations with neon are of unnatural stuff.

Gold was on the radio a while back which is how I came across her but she's not had anything wide released since. I love Poisoned With Love, What Starry Eyes Know, Bad Dog, and Some Like It Hot (ft Kinetics) best. She makes fun music :)
