[Opinions] Re: Orson
I think of Orson Wells and Orson Scott Card. OSC wrote some great fiction but his anti-gay remarks are sickening. I'm all for difference of opinions and all but this is a man who said:“Laws against homosexual behavior should remain on the books, not to be indiscriminately enforced against anyone who happens to be caught violating them, but to be used when necessary to send a clear message that those who flagrantly violate society’s regulation of sexual behavior cannot be permitted to remain as acceptable, equal citizens within that society.”And“The dark secret of homosexual society — the one that dares not speak its name — is how many homosexuals first entered into that world through a disturbing seduction or rape or molestation or abuse, and how many of them yearn to get out of the homosexual community and live normally.”And“Regardless of law, marriage has only one definition, and any government that attempts to change it is my mortal enemy. I will act to destroy that government and bring it down.”And“Legalizing gay marriage is not about making it possible for gay people to become couples. It’s about giving the Left the power to force anti-religious values on our children. Once they legalize gay marriage, it will be the bludgeon they use to make sure that it becomes illegal to teach traditional values in the schools.”And there is a lot more than that.

Whoa. I had never heard of that Card guy. Definitely leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

He wrote Ender's Game, if you heard of that movie? It sucks because I kind of like Orson otherwise. It has the same dorky cool vibe that Oswald gives me. Though Oswald has some unsavory namesakes, too. All names do I suppose. Forget about Orson Scott Card. Love the name! Sorry I brought him up--he's just so annoying I kind of spout my mouth off about him when I hear the name.
