[Opinions] Opinions on "Rayanne"
www.behindthename.com/submit/name/rayanne This is the name of my cousin. Originally I thought it was only a name for her, but I found other bearers, albeit rare.

Reminds me of Rayanne from My So-Called Life.

I think it is alright. I like "ray" names for girls (such as Rachael, Raelyn, etc.)

I went to school for awhile with a girl named Rae Anne. She was named for her grandfathers: Raymond and Anthony, if I correctly recall. I've never liked the sound, and I don't care for the look of Rae Anne. Rayanne is worse to me. It looks so smooshed together. It would be marginally better without the 'e' on the end.

This name will always make me think of "My So-Called Life". I really like it; it's lively and bright.

It reminds me of the Arabic boys name Rayan / Rayyan

Well, yes, it's a feminized version of that.

I never met one personally but it doesn't feel unusual or rare to me. I don't care for it, it seems very Hee Haw Honey to me, but it isn't terrible. Not as bad as Rayella, who I actually did meet.

Hmmm. I once knew a Royanne. She was an older woman, older than me, very nice woman. She told me that she'd been named after her father, whose name was Roy. Yeah, so Rayanne sounds as if she was named after her father Ray, and I do see that you stated it could be combination of Ray and Anne. I don't really like how either Royanne or Rayanne sounds.

I love Rayanne. I went through a phase (when I was considering converting to Islam) where I was obsessed with collecting Arabic names that were also English-friendly, and I found I really loved ones with sort of a 1970's slightly downmarket flair. Like Rayann and Farah and Lujayn. They are just so fun.

Sorry but to me it just sounds like every other made up name.

It's not made-up.

It reminds me of the character on "My So-Called Life." I don't like it.

I work with newborns and saw two last year, which makes it actually not all that uncommon. I don't like it. It doesn't help that I don't like Ray and Anne is beautiful on paper but boring in reality. Together, they just sound trendy.

I don't especially care for the sound of it. This spelling, as well, looks more masculine than I'd like. I've a cousin married to a Rae Anne and that definitely looks more elegant and feminine to me.
