[Opinions] Pandra
I met two little girls yesterday, the older was called Lyra which is lovely but her younger sister was called Pandra (her mom spelled it for me). Does anyone know where Pandra came from? Do you like it?I personally think it sounds too much like "panda"

I'm not a fan. It's okay, but I vastly prefer Pandora (my favourite name).

I don't like it. It makes me think of pandering.

I think it sounds like it could be Hindi or Sanskrit.
I don't care for it. Too close to panda.

I think of the verb "pander" before "panda." I don't like it at all.

I agree with you on the name sounding to much like "panda". I'd prefer Pandora, which is much prettier and matches better with Lyra, in my opinion.

I think I am the only one who thinks that it is cute...

Looks like a variant of Pandora influenced by panda, initially. However, it seems Pandra is actually a Celtic girl's name meaning "chief dragon." Neat meaning, but I already dislike the sound of Pandora, so this one is a step-up in bad for me. At least it doesn't seem to be a misspell, though.

I saw that same meaning on ThinkBabynames when I Googled it but it didn't seem all that credible, especially since it claimed it comes from a variant of Pendragon. I thought it might be a star or something, because of her sisters name, but it appears not.

I think of "panda", "pander" and "Pandora". I really dislike it.

I thought of Pandora as quickly as panda. Either way, it looks like a misspelling.

It looks like a mistype of Pandora, and that's what I thought it was till I read your whole message. It's awful. Like a panderer.
