[Opinions] Full name for Ellie?
The name Ellie has been growing on me lately. It works as a name on its own, but I kinda want it to be a nn. Elizabeth is too popular of a name, though I do love it, for it to be the full name. And Eloise and Eleanor are sweet, but I don't like them enough to consider it.So do you guys have any suggestions? The name doesn't have to start with the El sound, necessarily, but Ellie should seem like a reasonable nn for it. :)

Eliora or Eliana would be my suggestions.

I've used Ellie as a nickname for a character. Her full name was Ellora. Another one that could work is Ellen. I also think of Kelly, though that may be a bit of a long shot.

Although Elizabeth is a common name, as a full name for Ellie, it's not all that common. At least it isn't to me since most Elizabeths I've ever known were called Liz or Beth. I can understand why you wouldn't want to use it, though.Re: Ellie, I think it's adorable and if you're not into Eloise or Eleanor, you could opt for a less common full name:Electra / Elektra
Elena
Eliana
Elina
Ellen
Mariella / Marielle (any name containing 'ella' or 'elle' would work)

Ellen is my vote. Heck, Ellen is miles better than Ellie any day. I really like Ellen and wonder why it isn't more popular now; it fits right in with the lyn/len endings, and with Ella/Ellie/Elizabeth ad nauseam.I suppose she could also be Michelle or Danielle or anything else with an elle ending, but Ellie as a nn for one of those seems a stretch even though going by sound alone it isn't. It's just not done.

I knew a girl called Gabrielle who went by Ellie. She went by Gabby though also and I was at school with her for two years before I realised they were the same person!Elena, perhaps, though I prefer Lena as a nickname to this.
Eliza
Elisa
Elisia, this is what my friend Ellie was going to be called before her mum figured that she was always going to be Ellie anyway so why not cut out the middle name.
Ellen
Ella
Elea
Eleni, prefer Leni as a nickname for this though.
Elise
Elsie, possible too much of a stretch.:)

Hi :)
If you want to stray from the classic "Ellie" nickname derivatives, here's a few suggestions:
Elaine
Elena
Elisha
Elsha
Elina
Elissa/Elyssa
Eliana
Ella
Melissa
Melanie
Michelle
Brielle
Raquel/Raquelle
Gabriella/Gabrielle
Isabelle/Isabella
Anything that ends with an "el" or "elle"
