[Opinions] Re: Moss

Moss is a family name for me - he was my great-great-uncle (or something similar - I can't remember off the top of my head). His real name was Ira Moss but he went by Moss since his grandfather went by Ira. He's a really cool, adventurous guy in our family tree, so the name has always had good connotations for me. (He went "out west" in the US while it was still wild and untamed, and we have lots of his old letters!).
Anyway, I'm not sure if I'd use the name now. I like the idea of using it as a nickname like you mentioned. It's got some family appeal to me and I like the way it sounds.
A few combo ideas - I like it with more traditional middle names since it's a little more unusual, but I'd also love to see it in a combo with honoring names.
Moss Christopher
Ira Moss
Moses Joseph nn Moss
I'm sure you can come up with many other good ones :-)
