Mayli. For a girl.

Could be linked to Maylis or Mailys in French... but as the s in unecessary in English... I have gone with this spelling.

It also has an Asian flair I think.

Dang, I really want to like it. Mayli looks so awesome. And May is a great nickname. But, when I say it all I hear is yet another bell-tone generic name. May-Leigh. Or Mailey. You know, like Hailey, Bailey, Kayleigh, etc, etc, boring, blech.

Sorry, because it really does look awesome.

I think Mayli, and the combo Mayli Francine, is aces.

Is it actually based on Maylis, or is it sort of your own invention based on sounds you just like?

I thought of it as a prettying-up of Miley as in Cyrus, which put me right off.

I know a Chinese woman named Meilin, which is close. She wanted to change it to Plum at one point, but I think public opinion made her change her mind!

Did anyone else read "Miley variation" when they saw the name?

Would your opinion change if you saw the name on an SE Asian child?
