One of my cousin's have a son named Lionel. It's not one of my favorites, and I associate it with Lionel Richie and Lionel Messi (my cousin's son is named after him). I'd use Leo as a nickname for it.
As for Henry - I love it. I can't imagine Henry ver becoming retro-chic. Why? Because it's a classic.
