Barry would strike me as totally masculine - which technically makes no sense since "a" is usually atributed to female names. Maybe it is like Vivian versus Vivien in this case.
Anyway - I totally prefer Berry and think it could be a sweet name. I mean, if Plum, Clementine, Holly and Elder can be names... why not Berry. Plus it's darn cute.
Berrie would be even more sweet (but not sure if that would be too sweet).
My sister calls my daughter Berry (Clary-berry usually), so I have no trouble imagining it as a legit moniker.
