[Opinions] Evelyn/Eveline
What do you think of Evelyn? Do you prefer Eveline (like Evelyn but with a -line instead of -lynn sound)? What would you pair with it?

I love the name Evelyn, it's my grandmothers middle name.
If I have a daughter I am planning on calling her Evelyn Rose

I think Evelyn is so pretty, a really nice name. Eveline is nice too, but I still much prefer Evelyn. Evelyn Mae/May is my fave combo and we had that on our list, but one of DH's cousins used it for his DD.

I would go for neither. I would have like Evelyn a lot more if I haven't watched 'Play Misty for Me'.If I would pair names with Evelyn/Eveline, it would be:
Evelyn Marie
Evelyn Rae
Eveline Joanne
Eveline Kay

I think Evelyn is fine, but not as nice as some other Eve- names. It sounds a bit dated.Eveline is also nice but I prefer Evelina (ev-ah-LEE-nuh). I think that's beautiful!

I love Evelyn and prefer it over Eveline, though the latter is nice too. I would intuitively pronounce Eveline with a "-leen" sound at the end and I've never heard it pronounced with "-line"; I'll have to let that one simmer and see if it takes. Not sure whether you're wanting Evelyn combos...Evelyn Adele
Evelyn Audra
Evelyn Kate
Evelyn Moira
Evelyn Primrose
Evelyn Sophie

Would you say Ev-eh-leen, Ev-eh-line, EVE-ah-leen, EVE-ah-line? I think I like Eveline better (it's on my family tree pretty far back there...), but it does open its self up to more interpretation.

I love Evelyn, and whilst Eveline is nice I prefer Evelina (with an ee-nuh ending). Suggestion:
Evelyn Sylvia
Evelyn Sylvie
Evelyn Pixie
Evelyn Tansy
Evelyn Maeve
Evelyn Winter
Evelyn Fae/Faye
Evelyn Beatrix/BeatriceEveline Snow
Eveline Jessa
Eveline Jessamine
Eveline Georgiana (George-ee-ah-nuh)
Eveline Rhea (Ray-uh)
Eveline Henrietta

I technically like them both, but prefer Evelyn by a landslide. As far as my tastes go, I would likely go with something like Evelyn Raine or Evelyn Willow, since I love pairing those antique-type names with nature names. However, Evelyn is pretty versatile and combos like those below would work well too:
Evelyn Pearl
Evelyn Victoria
Evelyn Hannah
Evelyn Tracy
Evelyn Delphine
Evelyn Aubrey
etc..
As for Eveline - it is pretty. I like the look of this version better, but not the sound.
Eveline Carol
Eveline Jane
Eveline Daisy
Eveline Shirley
Eveline Therese

I prefer the tidier look of Evelyn, but I've never heard Eveline said with a -line sound. My mother attended the Eveline High School, which was named after some prominent person during their lifetime; it was pronounced EEVlin at all times. I have heard Eveline sounding like EVaLEEN, but I dislike -een names and I'm glad it doesn't happen very often.Either way, I've never known the full form actually used. It always shortens to Eve. Which is pleasant. It's quite a 1920s name, I think. Wendy, Jennifer, Roger, Clive.
