I have recently fallen in love with the name Liesel. What do you think of the name?---------------------------------------------PNL: http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/126941

Liesel is my SIL's name (husbands sister), so it's hard to be objective about it. But to be honest I never liked Liesel. It seems weird and I don't like the sound. I'm used to it now, of course, but it's one of those names I'll never like.

Love it. Forever ago - we had Liesl Joy at the very top of our list. I think it is one of those names that is soft and pretty, but carries a lot of strength. The Liesel spelling is far more accessible and mainstream too.
Plus - it's not a very common name. Far more interesting than Lisa and tons more oomph than Lisette.

This is one of my all time favourite names! Mostly because of the Sound of Music, but it also just sounds great.

I like it a lot, but I prefer the Liesl spelling.

I thinks it's cute yet pretty, too. It does remind one a bit of diesel, but I like it!

I quite like it. It's hardly heard of here in Australia. Actually I can only recall ever meeting one Liesel and she is the DD of one of DH's cousins.

My grandfather actually really wanted me to be named Liesel, and it's a name that I personally adore. I don't love it enough to name a child it, and even if I did, I probably wouldn't simply because people would always be singing to her "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" or making some kind of quirky VonTrapp reference. But, nonetheless, I think it's a beautiful name. Very classy.

I find it more soft and delicate than the others seem to! It's a beautiful name. Reminds me of The Sound of Music.

Like most German names, I love it. It has a soft, spunkiness to it.

it's really gentle, but also gives off a tough vibe!! Really cool name.
