[Opinions] Re: Colia or Coliana
in reply to a message by bibliocat
My associations with the sound, in the order they came to me: melancholia, E. coli, cholera, Collie (dog), colic, scoliosis, coleus (plant), cola, co- as in cooperate, Colleen, Colin.
Not a whole lot of pleasant things there, but nothing so close that it's really ruinous either. I think it's usable. Colia is easier to deal with than Coliana, it's less fanciful and asks less of me, so I like it more. I'm not personally attracted to the sound or look. I think Colea might be more appealing than Colia. Colina is nicer than any, but you might not like the loss of emphasis on the CO part.
