[Opinions] Gili or Gila
Gila reminds me of a smoosh of Gigi and Lola. Also loving it's variation Gili, but not sure which I love more. The G sounds like J and the i sounds like ee. I just may scream if anyone mentions the Gila monster. How sad it is when a beautiful name gets ruined.

In Israel they're hard G's: GEE-lee and GEE-la. Where is the soft G pronunciation from?
I prefer Gili. Gila feels dated to me, and I really like Gili.

I adore the Italian Gilda with a hard g... so who am I to diss Gila, which looks and sounds much more mainstream?
That said, I would have assumed it was geel-ah (soft g) upon seeing it. I also would have mentally sung "Hava-Nagila"... which is now stuck in my head.
I much prefer Gili.
If you like the soft-g sound... Gil is actually a cool name for a boy, and it means "joy" to boot.
