[Opinions] Tobias
I'm still re-thinking Theodore.. i'm worried it's going to get popular. Husband is 100% convinced on Theodore/Theodora, I'm thinking Theodora is ok as it seems alot less popular!
I'm back to thinking about Tobias. I really love this name and I have all my life. However I really dislike Toby.
I know one Tobias that refuses to be called Toby and I don't know any other Tobias' at all.
Is Tobias without a nickname realistic? (My brother is Christian and never got Chris, so I feel like it might be useable)
Also are Theodora and Tobias too T heavy?
What about: Tobias & Winifred as siblings or Tobias & Daphne
And the combo: Tobias Caspian Stewart (Arnold)

I like Theodore. I like Theodora. I like Tobias. :)
Now excuse me while I jump up on my soapbox for a bit. You can totally call Tobias Tobias all the time. You can try very hard to convince all your friends and relatives to do the same. You may very well succeed. But Tobias is likely to have an opinion. If not when he is 2 or 3 than when he is 8 or 14. So if you are going to pick a name with a very common and obvious nickname, you need to wrap your head around the possibility that your son will one day choose to use that nickname. And that has to be okay. Otherwise, don't go there.
As siblings, Theodora and Tobias are not too T heavy.
My favourite pair, though, is Tobias and Daphne.

I'm with your DH on this one.
The Tobias who refuses to answer to Toby presumably has to do so rather frequently. This should be a warning. And I must say, Toby isn't very appealing - though I've known a very nice one.
Theodora and Tobias only look T-heavy; because the sound is different, it wouldn't matter.
I'd use Theodore without hesitation; I think it's a classic that is sometimes more frequently used than others, but it'll never be like, say, Michael, where there were so many running around that namers just gave up on it.
I know a Theodora who hates her name with a white-hot passion; never known another one, and never known an English-speaking Theodore either.

I prefer Theodore over Tobias, also because Theo is a great nickname but like you I hate Toby. You can call your son Tobias all the time, but you can't avoid other people calling him Toby. And maybe he'll like Toby, so... You can't predict that.
Tobias Caspian Stewart is a nice combo.
I strongly dislike Winifred, I think it's one of the ugliest names out there. Sorry. Same goes for Daphne, really.

I prefer Tobias to Theodore. I knew one little Tobias and he sometimes got called Bias or Tobe, but I think that was mostly by other small children. I think you could use Theodora and Tobias in the same sibling set, but both my boys have names that start with the same letter, so maybe I am biased! It was unintentional too, we just loved both the names. I love Tobias and Daphne for siblings! Maybe Tobias Caspian Stewart and Daphne Theodora (something) is a nice option, or maybe not, it's up to you obviously!
Ahh it's so hard. We aren't even trying yet, I can't even think about how hard it's going to be when i'm pregnant!
I'm just so paranoid about picking a name thats going to be super popular.

I totally understand! Picking a name the first time around was easy, as I had always wanted to use Jasper, but picking a name the second time around was so hard! I didn't want a really popular name either and tbh, I didn't really want their names to start with the same letter, but I had to keep reminding myself to chuck out all the silly, self imposed rules and just go with a name we both loved. I really believe us name nerds make it harder for ourselves than it should be! At the end of the day, you just need to love the names, because you are going to be saying them a lot. And who's to say what names will get really popular anyway, because we can't always be right. Just try to relax about it and like I said, just use the names you love.
My rule of thumb is that you can always enforce calling your child by their proper name Tobias, but you won't be able to keep his friends or classmates from calling him Toby, Tobes, whatever nickname they can think of when that time comes.
I usually think of Chris as short for Christopher, not Christian, at least not where I grew up.
I still prefer Theodore, but Tobias is nice. I really like the combination you've used. I prefer Daphne with this.
