[Opinions] Morelle (Morel)
As a mushroom hunter coming upon morel season, I got to thinking about the name 'morel'I think it's got a pretty sound, though I'd probably spell it Morelle for a better chance at proper pronunciation. But Wdyt? Could it work as a name? I've seen Norelle before so why not Morelle? photo image_zps50478a13.jpg

Morell is a kind of cherry in Swedish, which I find more appetizing than mushrooms (I can't stand that squishy sensation in my mouth), but I can't say I like it anyway. I think it sounds too much like a surname.

Name tastes like mushrooms. Should not use.

I would shy away from Morel as a name because peoples first thought would always be of a mushroom. When introducing herself, people would always reply "Oh! a mushroom!" It would get old really fast. Undoubtedly, the school yard bully would nick name her Fungus.

The bully would likely say "A fungus is among us!"

Nice sound and look, but I don't find a mushroom name very appealing.

Well,
I like Mirelle - so I see no reason why Morelle wouldn't work. I do think it is more of a name spelled that way than Morel. Though, I suppose you could argue for Morel on a boy. I am not sure I like the sound on a boy though. The problem I find with this (potential) name is that the 'o' removes all of the frill and beauty of -elle names, and especially from the Marielle, Murielle, Mireille category. I would just rather someone go with Sorrel which at least sounds prettier. Basically - I wouldn't bat an eye if I met one, but I would never suggest it to someone or use it myself.
