Maybe a US/Canada v. Scotland pronunciation difference? I pronounce it the BtN way.
I like Cyan, it's fun. For some reason I thought of it as a boys name (I think it should technically be unisex, though, since its a word). Pronounced your way, it sounds a lot more feminine.
