[Opinions] Yancy
Heard a little boy called this while out picking strawberries this morning. I hear the most interesting names on kids while picking fruit, I swear. Anyway, it's a name I have never really thought about and never would've thought I'd like, but I thought it was really nice. What are everyone's thoughts on it?

It makes me think of the titular character in the 90s cartoon "Doug." His full name is Douglas Yancey Funnie.

HaI totally forgot about that! Loved that show when I was a kid.

Whoa! Can't believe someone else remembers "Doug." Forgot his middle name was Yancey. That...makes me like the name even more, honestly. :P

Sounds dated and definitely can't picture it on a boy. The name "Nancy" comes to mind.
Edit: oh, guess Yancy is masculine. Never would have guessed that unless I'm mispronouncing it. My bad

Interesting, I think it seems much more masculine. Maybe because it's a surname. It makes me think of Clancy before Nancy. Also probably because of the surname thing.

I've always loved this name, though most seem to think it too feminine. I think it's a soft name with just the right amount of masculinity, myself. Underused and handsome. How wonderful that you actually came across a little boy named Yancy!
