Prudy is beneath abysmal.
Prudence is better as a word than as a name. I once knew two sisters, Prudence and Susan, who were known as Prue and Sue. Enough to make anyone gasp. They were pleasant enough people - pretty tennis-playing blondes - but I'd have given their parents a Can Do Better.
