Help[Opinions] Shaundi????
So I really like this name pronounced Shawn-Dee, but no one else seems to care for it or never have even heard of it before. I have a friend with the name Shaundi and I swear she is the only person on the planet that has it! I heard later on that it was a name of a character in a video game and I was shocked! So my question is, what do you guys think of the name? and do you guys know anyone with this name?
BTW I think the name is oddly beautiful but I maybe a little biased. :)

I think it's really ugly, both in the look and in the sound. Sorry.
I am thinking maybe your friends parents heard the name Shanti which is sometimes pronounced SHAWN-tee and then they tried to approximate the spelling.

I'm sure I must have heard it; it sounds familiar, anyway. I don't think I've known anyone with the name, though. I'm getting a sort of 'young adult/adult in the 80s/90s' feel from it, but that could be just my imagination and nothing at all to do with the name itself. I guess I've never known/met anyone my age or younger with the name, so it feels like it must be an "older" name. Like Shauna, maybe? (Though, looking at Shauna's popularity graph, apparently most Shaunas are in fact my age - though the name has never been popular in my part of the world).
I don't really like the sound of Shaundi (I prefer Shauna, probably because it has a softer sound, but I've never really been a fan of any Shawn / Sean names anyway), but if you like it, then you like it.

No :( She was adopted at the age of three and her birth parents gave her that name but she doesn't know who they are to ask. Her adoptive parents kept the name because she was already used to it.

I don't like it; probably because I dislike the names Shawn and Dee and the fact that this name is pronounced SHAWN-DEE, makes it doubly bad in my opinion.
