[Opinions] Dervla
I came across this name recently, and while I can't think why, I really quite like it. I can't put my finger on why. What do you think of Dervla?Katie

I think it sounds kind of...snoring. The "ervl" is unattractive. Sorry!

I don't care for the sound of Dervla at all! Nothing about it is pleasing to my ears (ervla, vla). It's clunky and awkward sounding. Sorry!

It's quirky and fun to look at. But, same as Percy and Mervyn, I find that ER sound really, really unpleasing.

I like it, in a sort of dated, needs to make a comeback type of way. In the same vein as Davina, Harriet, Evelyn, and Marguerite. It would pair really well with sisters Fidelma and Sorcha. Reminds me of the old programme Ballykissangel, quite 90s.

The "vl" doesn't sound very good to my ears. I know a couple of Dervlas (or Dearbhla if you want the Irish spelling) and because of that I associate it with older women. Sounds dated to me.

I dislike it, though I've never heard it before. I'm not a huge fan of D names other than Dorothea and my GP Daffodil

I agree, not a big fan of D names either as most seem very clunky to me, and combined with the awkward 'vl', in my opinion, makes it even clunkier.
