I was just thinking about this the other day and came to the conclusion that I don't prefer either! I do like both; I just don't have a strong feeling either way. While pregnant with my youngest, I wanted to name her Caroline and call her Cara. I still like that although Caro has really grown on me. BTW, my dd has gone through a few phases where she's toyed with the idea of being called by her mn, Caroline (Caroline, no nn). Most of her friends and teachers have stuck with calling her Anna and for that, I'm rather relieved since she's gone through several phases in the last few years. ;-) I told her when she's 18 and if she still feels this way, then I'll take her more seriously.

I don't think Carrie is too dated at all. It's actually very sweet.
