Yep. Except it turns out my aunt has been mishearing it all this time and thinking it was Bunion.
Bunion is not such an awesome nickname.
I pointed that out when she told me, and she's like yeah, I was wondering why your dad was calling you that, I was really confused.
For most of my life.
I also get Bun, Bunny and Bunnykins, which are all a little on the cutesy side these days.

I went to school with a girl nick-named Bunny;her actual name was Jaunita! Not Latina at all, just a childhood endearment-type name.
